Me, taking on the end of summer sun as we sat by the Musconetcong River....Not that soon after this photo was taken is when I mistakingly stepped on a bee hole and got swarmed...I panicked, I screamed and I survived. Needless to say, I am now traumatized by those little bees that I once was so tough around:)
Can you believe this is New Jersey? We found some of the most beautiful areas this weekend, like this trail that intersects with the Appalachian Trail before entering Pennsylvania.

Friday, September 3, 2010 My friends, what do you have planned for this long weekend? We're planning on a quickly thrown together camping trip, a lot of picture taking with my new camera, and to just celebrate the summer that we had.
"The glow that brightens the darkness, the sunlight that gives birth to life itself, the flame in your own heart-is as old as time and as close as your breathe. How do you celebrate it?" --The Ritual Of Honoring Light
Have fun celebrating this weekend!

My friends, it's friday! Any fun things planned? We are going tubing again tomorrow morning, which I love and so much easier than sitting in traffic to go to the beach. The rest of the weekend I would love to just relax, finish reading Committed, and take some pictures of the Hummingbirds that have been visiting my back porch in major numbers this week! Monday I'm starting Yoga classes again, it's been too long and I need it real bad. How cute are these elephants, the baby was only 2 weeks old!
Don't forget our lovely Giveaway...you have until Monday to enter!!

Wednesday, August 18, 2010 North Carolina...Have you been? It's a place with a much slower pace, very sweet people, and beautiful nature. We shopped, sat by the fire, visited beautiful waterfalls, went zip lining and spent as much time as we could on the front porch laughing and looking out onto the Blue Ridge Mountains. My father has taken on the hobby of playing the mandolin (bluegrass music) and he made sure to take all our silly song requests as we sat by the fire in their front yard.
What do you do to create memories with your family? It's hard when they live far away, but sometimes makes the visit all that more special....wouldn't you agree?

Just a taste of the homes...little islands span the water with amazing homes, reminds me of Maine.
We took the small boat to this beach island..the battery died and we had to call a "tow boat" to bring us back. Say that 3 times...

Our shadows
It's me...this actually isn't the boat, but instead me just being silly and pretending it was.
Arriving to the festival the first night...it was a scene to say the least.
Boats...Festivals...Maps...final destination was Greenwich, Connecticut! If you've never been it's quite amazing. The homes are gi-normous, the boats are breathtaking and the shops and restaurants make you feel like you're on a mini Rodeo Drive. We hadn't planned on going there, we were all set to stay on the boat at the Festival all weekend, but little did we know our boat would be docked at a marina in the middle of an industrial park...eek. So, off we went with just a map and the hopes to see a more beautiful Connecticut and that's what we did!
Have a lovely, adventurous weekend!!
